The Circular Economy

Farm waste becomes export-grade fiber

Agronest Export is a Bangladeshi manufacturer and exporter of banana fiber and pineapple leaf fiber (PALF). We collect pseudostems and pineapple leaves that farms in the Modhupur, Tangail belt would otherwise burn, and turn them into lab-tested natural fiber for spinning mills, rope makers, paper mills, composite brands, and wholesalers.

Processing runs at our own factory in Modhupur, Tangail — so every bale is traceable to a single facility, every lot is sampled for lab testing, and every shipment ships with a phytosanitary certificate and Certificate of Origin.

Our Core Strengths

  • Own factory — Modhupur, Tangail — not a middleman
  • Chemical-free mechanical decortication, washed and sun-and-oven dried
  • Every lot sampled for tensile strength, fineness, and moisture at an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited lab
  • Compressed 25, 50, and 100 kg bales with phytosanitary certificate and Certificate of Origin
“We do not farm fiber. We rescue it — from stems and leaves that already fed the harvest.”

Material Composition

What banana fiber is made of

Banana pseudostem fiber is a cellulose-dominant bast fiber with low lignin — which is why it softens well, spins well, and pulps well. Values below are lab-measured ranges for our export-grade banana fiber.

Cellulose60–65%
Hemicellulose~19%
Lignin5–10%
Moisture (at baling)10–12%

PALF runs higher — 70–82% cellulose — with finer strands at 20–60 microns. Full specifications are on each product page.

The pseudostem is ~90% water and pulp — and roughly 1–2% fiber. That fiber is what we rescue.

Sustainability

Numbers, not adjectives

Every tonne of fiber we export is a tonne of agricultural waste that never gets burned. The pulp removed during decortication goes back to the fields as compost — the loop closes where it started.
