First Shipment: 1 Ton of Banana Fiber, Bangladesh to China

Published · 2 min read

Compressed banana fiber bales loaded in a shipping container at Chattogram, ready for export to China

This week we loaded and shipped our first commercial consignment: one metric ton of textile-grade banana fiber, manufactured at our factory in Modhupur, Tangail and delivered to a spinning mill in China. The photograph above shows the container at loading — compressed poly-woven bales, strapped and stacked, with the documentation set riding in the shipper's consignment.

What shipped

  • Product: Textile-grade banana fiber, mechanically decorticated from fresh banana pseudostems, washed chemical-free, sun-dried, and hand-graded
  • Quantity: 1,000 kg net, packed in compressed bales at 10–12% verified moisture
  • Origin: Modhupur, Tangail, Bangladesh — the heart of the country's pineapple and banana belt
  • Destination: A spinning mill in China, for trial spinning into blended yarn
  • Terms: FOB Chattogram, HS 5305.00, full document set (commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, phytosanitary certificate, bill of lading)

Why a one-ton trial matters

Veteran fiber buyers know the pattern: a new supplier's first order is small, documented, and watched closely on both sides. The mill will open the bales, re-test moisture and tensile against the pre-shipment lab report, run carding and spinning trials, and only then talk about program volumes. That is exactly how we want it. Our sample and lab-report process exists so that the bales that arrive in China behave exactly like the samples that left Bangladesh.

What this means for the next buyer

Every consignment we ship adds something to the operation: a verified packing configuration, a worked document set for a specific market, and logistics data (in this case, sea freight Chattogram → China). If you are evaluating banana fiber or cottonized banana fiber for a 2026 program — spinning, rope and cordage, paper, or composites — request a sample and we will send the fiber, the lab report, and now a reference shipment to point to.
